Built in 1884 at the corner of bustling Cedar and Cottage Streets (now Third and Louisiana), this brick vernacular style building has seen more than a century of the town's activity and growth. Among its many early occupants were a tailor shop, an apothecary, a soda fountain, doctor's offices, and a clothing store.
Today, warm hospitality, inviting rooms and delicious food are our tradition. Inn at Cedar Crossing offers the comforts and amenitites of a historic inn with all the modern conveniences. The guest lobby, off Louisiana Street, is graced by the original pressed tin ceiling and furnished with antiques. Upstairs, nine elegant guesrooms await your arrival. While each room has it's own personality, all provide the prefect spot to getaway. Our restaurant has been serving Door County residents and visitors alike since 1989, and is known for quality food, creative entrees and attentive service..
In the evening, the Gathering Room becomes a relaxing spot to enjoy a parlour game, curl up with a bowl of popcorn and a book or plan the next day's activities on the guest computer. Fresh baked cookies, coffee, herbal tea, or fresh lemonade are offered each afternoon. |
In the morning, enticing aromas from the kitchen bring you downstairs for homemade muffins and scones, and a full hot breakfast with a choice of two breakfast entrées each day. It's a great time to share vacation experiences with other guests or to discuss the day's activities.
A stroll through the streets finds you amidst interesting shops, boutiques, and galleries, the Door County Historical and Maritime Museums, the library, Miller Art Center, and the market square. Just three blocks from the waterfront and close to numerous parks, you can enjoy sailing, biking, picnicking, beaches, and sunsets. The historically inclined will want to tour through the town's designated historic districts.
Exploring further, you'll find Door County's captivating beauty with 250 miles of shoreline, spectacular limestone bluffs, orchard studded hills, and serene wooded back roads. Recreational activities are endless. Allow us to share our area's rich cultural and artistic heritage... the many galleries and festivals, the summer concerts and theaters. |
Conveniently located, you'll find us easily by following the map to our location in historic Sturgeon Bay. Take Business Route 42/57 into town and across the old bridge.
